Blues Revolution Christmas Party - 09 December 2011
There’s no better way to celebrate Christmas than with a dose of Chicago Blues! That’s why Blues Revolution are teaming up with Dr K’s Blues Band to bring you the best party of the season. Come in from the cold and celebrate the festive season with good friends and the best blues music around. It's BYOB (bring your own bottle), so you provide the festive spirit and we'll provide you with an evening of pure blues dancing joy.
THE MUSIC
Dr K’s Blues Band are true veterans of the British Blues Explosion. Formed in 1967, they’ve been playing Chicago Blues in London ever since. The band’s lineup includes Mad Dog Barnes who gave an unforgettable performance at the LLX late night and Mick Haase, the band’s surviving link to the 1967 lineup. Here’s a little taste of their awesome sound:
DAN NASH
As if that wasn't enough, we're taking it up a notch with a second live act! In between the band's sets, we're going to have acoustic blues from Dan Nash! Dan is a talented, young blues musician with real style and a great feeling for early blues. Dan's music harks back to the roots of rent party/juke playing - just close your eyes and think of Robert Johnson after the crossroads!
THE VENUE
The party will be at Exmouth Market Centre in Farringdon. It's central, easy to get to, and there's lots of room to dance. Best of all, as it's BYOB, the bluesiest Christmas party is also the cheapest. There are fridges there, so bring wine, beer, spirits, munchies, whatever you like!
